NYC Color Cosmetics has released a set of new lip colors perfect for spring! They include a vibrant pink, a bold red, and a shimmery coral and they retail for just $1.96. I had the chance to test them out last week as well as their City Proof Twistable Intense Lip Color and here are my thoughts on them.
-Both the lipstick and the twistable are incredibly smooth and creamy, which I loved. The formula includes shea butter which is great for the lips. My lips didn’t dry out, nor did they lipstick get cakey throughout the day. They also have a nice smell and “flavor” they way lip glosses do, so that was a nice surprise.
-The Expert Last Lipstick last hours! They claim your color will last for six hours, and I’m not disagreeing. It really did last a long time, and quite possibly more than 6 hours. The color does slowly fade as the hours go by, but it fades evenly and leaves your lips looking stained, and not streaky.
– The colors vibrant but if you are looking for subtle color, blotting your lips with a tissue will soften the color while still lasting hours.
– You can’t beat the price. At $1.96 for the Expert Last Lipstick, and $2.88 for their City Proof Twistable Intense Lip Color, it’s really a great deal. Not to mention you can stock up your favorite colors!
– All of the colors I tried we bold, except for one. Which just so happened to be my favorite! It was a nude color with just the right amount of shimmer and shine so that it doesn’t look as though you aren’t wearing any color.
To celebrate these new spring lip colors, NYC Cosmetics is launching the “NYC Amazingly Affordable Makeovers” where you can get an uptown makeover for under $20.
