Last week I shared a cocktail that would fit in perfectly at your Halloween party. This weeks cocktail has a Dia de los Muertos theme.

When it came to coming up with a Dia de los Muertos cocktail, tequila was a must. I’ve shared a few margarita recipes before… but for this recipe I thought a splash of wine would give it a nice Halloween vibe. I garnished it with a few pomegranate seeds and decorated it with a bright yellow flower which is common in Dia de los Muertos decor.

Whether you’re serving this up for some guest at your halloween get together or enjoying one while passing out candy, it’s a cocktail that will surely be enjoyed.

It’s easy to make, as most margaritas are, but has a nice flavor profile. Follow the recipe below to make your own winerita this halloween season, or any time throughout the year!

Dia de los Muertos Cocktail

Ingredients

• Juice of 2 limes
• 2 oz tequila
• 1/2 oz agave
• 1/2-1 oz red wine
• Pomegranate seeds

In a shaker with ice, mix tequila, lime, and agave. Strain in a glass with ice. Top with red wine and pomegranate seeds. Yeilds 1.
