Cinco de Mayo is next week… you know I couldn’t let it pass without posting a Margarita recipe! Like I’ve said before, margaritas are a staple here in Texas and Cinco de Mayo is just another excuse to enjoy this delicious cocktail. This year, I’ve added a special twist to the classic. I’ve made a green chile margarita and instead of using tequila… I’ve used vodka instead!
I first tried this vodka on a trip to San Francisco when I visited their distillery. We had a tasting of their different spirits and in the end my cousin bought a couple different bottles to take back to her place which was where we first made the green chile margarita. By the way- they also recommend this vodka in bloody mary’s. I have yet to try it but I can imagine it taste great.
Green Chile Margarita Recipe
- 2-2.5 oz St. George Green Chile Vodka
- juice of two limes
- 1/2 agave (depending on taste)
- 1/2 oz Grand Marnier
Mix all ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake. Pour in a Margarita glass with ice. You can garnish with either lime slices, or jalapeno slices!
